On 27 May, the I SOPIO Meeting took place in Coimbra. Expectations were high, considering this was the first event organised by this society.
The response was overwhelmingly positive. The event had 283 registered attendees, and the conferences were characterised by a high degree of clinical and scientific content, as is the custom of the speakers who kindly accepted the invitation.
We rejoice in the spirit of fellowship and camaraderie that existed among all those present. It is in this spirit that we wish to move forward. We are a society that aims to be inclusive and unifying, seeking to help face the clinical and scientific challenges of our profession.
With this same purpose, it was with great pleasure that we established a partnership with the Spanish Society of Implantology at this First Meeting.
We cannot fail to express our gratitude to our sponsors and to everyone who has associated themselves with the event, making its realisation possible, and who have trusted, from the outset, this scientific society as it takes its first steps.
