
The Portuguese Society of Implantology and Osseointegration (SOPIO) held the inauguration ceremony for its new Board of Directors, for the 2024-2027 triennium, on October 5th.
The ceremony took place in Coimbra and was attended by a large number of associates, as well as representatives from other oral health sector entities.
The new SOPIO Board of Directors is composed of João Caramês (President), Helena Francisco (Vice-President), André Moreira (Secretary), Pedro Nicolau (Treasurer), and also includes João Braga, Filipe Moreira and Filipe Freitas (members).
In his speech, João Caramês thanked the members for their trust and pledged to work to ensure that SOPIO continues to be a benchmark in the field of dental implantology in Portugal. Among his priorities, the new President highlighted the promotion of training, the dissemination, support and revitalisation of dental implantology at national and international level, as well as the establishment of partnerships with other scientific societies.
